PostHeaderIcon Eyebrows

Eyebrows provide a definite expression to the face. This procedure can add fullness and definition to thin, sparse or absent eyebrows. We use the science of color theory to match the client's skin tone to achieve the desired effect. Some clients want a sensual look, some want a dramatic look, some want a more natural look. We work with each client individually in order to achieve the look that is best for her.

Many of us lose our brow hairs as we age. Sometimes losing brow hair is due to over-plucking, sometimes it is due to a health condition such as thyroid problems, and sometimes it just happens. And so, for those of us who have little or no brow hairs left, we use a brow pencil to recreate the desired look. We pencil on that brow every single day, sometimes more than once a day. And every time we apply the pencil there is a level of frustration that we experience, wondering if we can make both brows look the same. Having brows that are permanent will eliminate the frustration as well as the time required to apply brow pencil, and you can be assured that both brows will look exactly the same every time. Your eyebrows will be perfect 24/7.

There are many different styles and designs of brows. With the client’s help, we will choose the style that brings out the best features of your face. If you have a round face, you might prefer a more angular brow, or someone with an oval face may prefer a more classic brow.

Dramatic Brow Measurements are taken to ensure proper placement of the brow in reference to the corners of the eye, the nose, and the iris of the eye.

When designed properly, eyebrows frame the face and can "lift" the eyes, producing a more youthful appearance. This procedure is delightful for women who have sparse brows or who suffer from trichotillomania as it can give the illusion of a more full brow and a more defining natural beauty to the face. Clients with Alopecia or traumatic injuries find that this procedure restores natural definition to their face. Women who used to apply pencil can go swimming, play tennis, or wipe their forehead without the embarrassment of losing their eyebrows.

I use two different methods of applying pigment to the brows. (1) The "hairstroke" (microblading) method provides a very subtle, natural looking brow.  Pigment is implanted into the brow line to mimic the appearance of hair in order to enhance the natural brows. Each "hair" is applied individually with a single needle dipped in pigment and then very artfully tattooed into the brow area. (2) The powdered method is more dramatic and is the typical eyebrow tattoo method. This method is a solid fill-in design and gives the appearance of brows that have been filled in with a brow pencil. Both methods require the same amount of time and they both look very nice.

As you can see from the photo below, properly placed eyebrows can give the eyes a "lift".

Microblading Technique

This technique is the process in which needles are pulled through the skin making an "incision" into which the pigment is simultaneously implanted, giving the illusion of a hairstroke. The needles are 0.1mm in diameter and secured together in a straight line. To the naked eye they do look like a blade. (Only a physician can use a blade to make an incision in the skin). The needles penetrate into the upper dermal layer of the skin, and as a result the procedure is permanent. Because every hair on the missing part of your eyebrow is tattooed individually,  the eyebrows look as natural as possible. The pigmented used is adapted to your hair color and skin tone, and the tattooed "hairs" follow the direction of your natural eyebrow hair growth. The procedure takes about 1-2 hours. One of the great aspects of this natural looking procedure is that there is no down-time during the healing process! h

Because you will lose 10-15% of the pigment during the healing process, a touch-up (included in the price) is mandatory 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure.

Touch-ups will be required about every 18-24 months to keep the color refreshed.
